Well, There's a controller that you can program each button to a key that's on the keyboard. It has two rolls of 3 buttons, and 2 top buttons using via your index fingers.
You won't be able to play it fully on just your controller tho, you'll need to combine both keyboard and controller together. Because the lacks of buttons. I also like playing with game controllers, but I adapted using the keyboard as a controller. So in combat, I never really touch the mouse at all. I suggest using the Numpad as your Spells hot buttons, and Insert/Home/Page Up/Delete, etc to be your buttons to select team members. I also HATE AWSD as my movement keys, I use my home keys; SEDF instead, I dont know why people use AWSD it's not natural. Use the down arrow to select nearest target, and left right arrows to cycle through them. Now the keyboard is more like a huge game controller, and really easy to operate, try that out =) it worked for me. |

I have no problem with keyboard but the wifey has alot of problems and gets frustrated.. she is not a gamer per say. so she has a hard time.. She does play some Ps2 games from time to time and was looking to get her a controller for this game but dont want to waste the money if its going to be even worse for her.

Yeah, I say dont get it. Because I got one, and it didnt work out well, because in the end, you'll going to end up having to cope with the keyboard and get use to keyboard/mouse in order to play.

I had a problem with the keyboard too when I first started. Best thing to do is find an out of the way place to practice. If you try learning during combat, you're asking for a headache.
If she's still in pre-sear, just walk outside Ascalon and just move around and target things. In post-sear, hang outside the gate of Sardelac. You can rebind your keys if you need to make it more comfortable as well. |

I don't like using the keyboard for any game anymore... not since I discovered my n52. That thing is awesome. Left hand for the n52, right hand on the mouse and any control I need in any game is readily accessible. Just have to train myself up by playing to orgainze the controls to suit the game at hand.
Although I still have to use the keyboard for communication... |
